Scrap Around the World: Cutie

My good friend gave me some of their family photos before she left for Canada. I recently saw a page she created with this photo and was totally inspired to do the same. I hope I did it justice.

I used the mood board at Scrap Around the World as inspiration and also (loosely) based it on the sketch.

Here are some closeups of the cute embellishments:

Scrap & Music: The Time of Your Life

I love using song lyrics in my layouts and have been wanting to play along with Scrap & Music for the past few months. Their current sketch is so gorgeous, I HAD to play along.

I decided to challenge myself by using only Silhouette shapes and white paper for this layout. I used 2 punches and some pens and markers but I think I did pretty well.

The song for this challenge was Time of Your Life by Green Day. None of the lyrics really spoke to me except for the title so I decided to extend it to read, “When u 2 r together u always have the time of your life”. Yes, I even used numbers and letters for words, something I intensely hate. I wanted the page to look like something a school girl could have created in her free time in class using limited supplies.

My embellishments were all Silhouette shapes cut from plain white cardstock and doodled on with pens or coloured with markers.

My favourite part is definitely the colourful banners.

Sketchbook 365: Girls Day Out

I had so much fun creating this layout, except for the part where I had to pull everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) apart and start over after someone's fingers smeared my title. Oh, the things we would do for perfection.

I love these photo booth pics of Carla, Karla and I at the Waterfront. I think they worked perfectly with the sketch and the colours.

The little pearls were made with Ranger Liquid Pearls in bisque and the title in ruby red. I will definitely use the Liquid Pearls for titles again. They really stand out and show off just that little bit more than ordinary paint.

Such a cool sketch from Sketchbook 365 this month...
