Scrap & Music Design Team

As my friends all know I am totally in love with music. Because of this I am always drawn to the scrapbooking challenges that combine scrapbooking with music. Scrap & Music has been my favourite challenge to take part in since I discovered them last year.

I am excited and proud to announce that I am on the Scrap & Music from April to July 2014!!

I am in serious need of some craft therapy...

.... but my mojo is gone!

They broke into our house on Friday afternoon while we were all at work and out and about. My husband was the lucky person who got to walk in on a house in shambles. Drawers emptied out all over our bedroom floors, huge empty spaces where appliances used to be and a general feeling of having your peace disturbed and your privacy invaded.

I have had this uneasy feeling about me since Friday. Last night I sat down at my table and decided to relieve some stress through craft therapy... NOTHING! I could not think of a single thing I felt like making. Everything looked like too much effort.

I guess I'll try again tonight.

Scrap365 - A Love Story

Phew! I'm not sure what happened with this layout but I think I managed to make it work. I started by following the Scrap365 sketch but decided that the layout was too “empty”. I roughly doodled a frame which I thought was too big and then “lightened” it by spraying Dazzles over it, attempting to blend it more into the background. I'm not convinced... but I guess they can't all be masterpieces. Some words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated here.

The photo is of my sister-in-law and her husband, taken on her birthday last year. I love the way the colour of her eyes stands out in this photo.

Scrap & Music: Memories Made

As usual Ana Castro does not disappoint with an awesome sketch on Scrap & Music.

I am continuing on my quest to scrap as many photos as possible of our girly tea party.

I mean, how can you not fall madly in love with photos as gorgeous as these?

The song for this challenge is “Someone Like You” by Adele. I chose the words “Memories made” from the bridge.

I used paper from the breathtaking Mad Tea Party collection by Marion Smith.

And a few Dear Lizzy elements.

And lastly, the sketch... These sketches really are a joy to work with.

Scrapping Everyday Miracles: March DT Reveal

The March challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles has been running for a week already and I haven't blogged about it yet. Life has been nothing short of hectic over the last 2 weeks but I am REALLY hoping that things are going to start slowing down this week.

Apart from a crazy busy 2 weeks at work, it was Karla's birthday this week and my nephew was admitted to hospital with a sugar count of over 20. Good news, he went home today after they discovered that the batch of insulin he was using was faulty. They opened a new packet of insulin and his sugar levels normalised almost immediately. It is truly scary how things could have gone horribly wrong but such a relief that the problem was discovered and he is healthy and strong once again.

The theme at Scrapping Everyday Miracles this month is “Laughter is the best medicine.”
Psalm 126:2 “Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

I decided to use a tiny acrylic mini album I received as a prize from a local scrapbooking store and fill it with photos of Karla laughing and being silly.

There is also a layout sketch as well as a card sketch. Check out the challenge and the rest of the DT inspiration here.
