I am really enjoying the sketches at Scrap & Music!

This week's song is She Looks so Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer. It's a fun, catchy song with catchy but strange lyrics. You look so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear. Huh?! Lol!

I think I'm slowly but surely coming to the end of our tea part photos. There are still a few great, scrap worthy photos but I think I'll keep them in the archive for a rainy day. We are visiting Durban for a much needed, much anticipated holiday by the sea next week and I am looking forward to some great photos after that.

About a month ago I taught my first class in a long time at a scrapbooking shop near my home.

This was the example I developed for the class:







Some ladies were a bit skeptical at first, being perfectionists and used to drawing straight lines and colouring inside those straight lines, so to speak. Some were shaken a bit out of their comfort zones, others were harder to convince. Then there were those who couldn't wait to get their hands dirty and play with all the yummy goodies I took along to the class.

In the end I think everybody had a great time and I was immensely impressed with the quality of the layouts produced.

What amazes me most about these type of classes is how everybody follows the same general pattern and yet they all end up with such different end products.

How bizarre... After editing this layout photo I saved it to a folder on my harddrive and when I tried to rename it, I realised that I had already used this title on a previous layout for the same challenge blog! (Some useless information for your Thursday morning.)

What a fun challenge at Scrap Africa brought to us by Erica Houghton!

The challenge is to use products that have been in your stash for a few years and items that may be out of fashion.

I used papers from DCWV - All About Girls collection.



The cute frame is a fridge magnet frame that I trimmed down at the back. They were on sale for R6 each at Woolworths and I just couldn't resist. I bought one in each colour.

Amidst preparations for a very big leap I'm taking on the 1st of July (exciting announcement to follow) I have managed to neglect my blog terribly. I have folders full of photos waiting to be uploaded here so I am predicting a very full week of blogging.

This post is a bit (ok, very) late. The June challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles was posted on the 1st of June.

Our theme this month is “Each new day is a gift”.
James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

I created a journal page using the the words “Every good and perfect gift is from above”.

Do you see the little boy giving his mommy a rose? The page was created shortly after Mothers Day and I wanted to incorporate something that symbolizes the bond between mother and child. The greatest gift I ever received is my beautiful daughter and I thank God for her every day.

We have another fantastic sketch by Denise van Deventer up on the Scrap Africa blog today.

I loved working with this sketch and the opportunity it gave me to use some more of my Anna Sui paper dolls.



I bought these paper dolls in a set. They have been hand drawn by the fashion designer, Anna Sui.



The paper is from the Little Miss range by Bo Bunny.
